It seems the Italian automaker has found quite a bit of success in Switzerland as one out of every 18,000 citizens owns a brand-new Ferrari.
Of course, credit also goes to the country’s exceptional economic strength as it consistently ranks among the world’s wealthiest nations.
Compared to other developed nations, the country’s wealth is distributed relatively evenly too.
This creates a broader pool of potential luxury car buyers.

1-out-of-18,000 Swiss citizens own a new Ferrari
Last year, the wealthy Alpine nation recorded an impressive 474 Ferrari registrations.
That’s approximately one brand-new Ferrari per 18,000 inhabitants.
This highlights the unique relationship between Swiss consumers and the prestigious Italian automaker.
Looking at the 474 supercars sold in Switzerland last year reveals more interesting data.
Out of these cars, 141 units were the Ferrari 296, followed by the Purosangue SUV at 114 units.
Surprisingly, the flagship 812 model contributed to just 48 units.
Ferrari sales
Compared to Switzerland, the Italian carmaker sold 3,527 cars in the US in 2024.
That’s approximately one per 98,222 Americans.
Other European markets haven’t faired so well either.
Even Italy, Ferrari’s home country, only sees 700 annual sales (one per 84,000 inhabitants).
France only registered 347 units in 2024 (that’s one per 200,000 inhabitants).
To be fair, more than 90 percent of all Ferraris ever produced are still on the road today, so the residents might just be holding on to their old rare supercars.
That means there are over 300,000 Ferraris in the world that are still driveable.
Other than its booming millionaire population, Switzerland also fosters a strong automotive culture.
The country is filled with well-maintained roads and iconic mountain passes, providing the perfect setting for these high-performance supercars.
