Latest iPhone accessory is a romantic throwback to a golden era

We’ve had all sorts of iPhone accessories and gadgets, including some pretty expensive ones, presented to us in recent years.

However, for some reason, no one had ever thought of a physical keyboard for the iPhone.

Not like this, anyway.

Several aftermarket keyboards are already available but this one is different for one key reason.

Instead of using Bluetooth, this iPhone keyboard is integrated into a phone case.

So that means, once it’s connected, your iPhone de-facto becomes a BlackBerry-style phone for the entire time you keep the case on.

It’s a clever keyboard, too.

Once connected, the phone will recognize it and automatically hide the digital keyboard on their screen, which means the whole display can be used for content.

In addition to numbers and letters, the keyboard also offers different buttons that can be used for shortcuts.

There’s a backlight, too, so you can use it in the dark as well.

Launched at CES 2024 in Las Vegas, the iPhone keyboard, made by a company called Clicks, is available both for Lightning and USB-C, and it can be used on iPhone 14 Pro, 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max.

In both cases (no pun intended), two colors are available, BumbleBee yellow and London Sky gray.

It’s not too big.

It adds about 40 mm and 60+ grams to your iPhone bulk.

It is also not super expensive.

The one for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro costs $139, while the iPhone 15 Pro Max one costs $159.

It’s a huge throwback to a long gone era.

When it was launched in 2007, the first iPhone started the revolution that essentially killed the physical keyboard.

So aside from the added functionality, this iPhone keyboard will no no doubt bring back good memories, too.
