This is the moment a Jeep Gladiator appeared to completely defy the laws of physics as it climbed up a steep rockface in Utah.

The heart-stopping footage was filmed at an area known as ‘The Chute’ in Sand Hollow State Park, Utah.

This particular climb was skillfully and successfully executed by professional off-road racing driver Casey Currie.

Footage shows the Jeep tackling the steep incline

Footage of off-roaders being pushed to their limits – such as the time this Range Rover Sport made history by climbing to China’s Heaven’s Gate or when this Toyota Land Cruiser tackled a mind-bending incline – is always entertaining.

Obviously, this clip of Currie shared by Monster Energy is no exception.

In the footage, the car appears to be almost completely vertical as it climbs up the rock face.

The heart-stopping clip shows the Jeep tackling the steep incline with what appears to be little effort before it levels out at the top.

As you can imagine, folks watching the clip online couldn’t quite believe their eyes with some suggesting the driver must be ‘Spiderman’ and others questioning how the Jeep would get back down.

Good point, well made.

“Turn your phone sideways, makes it much more believable,” someone else joked.

Social media users was blown away by the clip

In fact, the feat was so impressive that some social media users accused Currie of using a winch and then editing it out before sharing the clip three years ago.

However that isn’t the case – and no secret winches or other machinery were used in the making of the stunt.

Although other footage of ‘The Chute’ does appear to show that it isn’t quite as steep as the original clip makes out, it’s still wildly impressive – and the whole thing is a massive ‘nope’ from us.

But while we may choose to give it a miss, The Chute is a pretty popular spot for off-roaders and regularly attracts drivers who are keen to take on the challenge – and then share their results online.

Rather them than us.
