Man decided to trade his Lamborghini Countach for a Bugatti Veyron, but the decision doesn’t play out how he hoped

This YouTuber made the bold decision to trade in his reliable Lamborghini Countach for a Bugatti Veyron, and is already regretting the decision.

Tyler Hoover, of Hoovie’s Garage, is known for buying cars in need of a fix-up.

But it seems the Bugatti Veyron he got needs far more work than it’s worth.

What’s more, he traded in not one but two iconic supercars for it.

The great supercar swap

Hoovie bought his Lamborghini Countach in 2020 from an eccentric neurosurgeon.

He bought two Lamborghinis off him – the Countach and also a Diablo, which he repaired and sold for more than what he paid for both.

“So I had a free Countach for four years,” Hoovie says.

It’s a rare one too, with original pearl white paint, and has never given him any problems.

Despite all of this, Hoovie made the decision to sell it, trading it in along with his BMW Z8 to get a Bugatti Veyron in return.

Perhaps not the wisest decision considering how much spare parts for the Veyron cost, and the fact that an oil change alone can cost more than some people’s cars.

Let’s hope he never loses his keys, either.

That could set him back by $14,000.

“When the maintenance bills start to roll in, I’m sure the regret over giving up the Countach will hit,” one commenter said.

Why would you trade a Countach for a Veyron?

Hoovie revealed that the Veyron he bought isn’t in great condition.

It can’t reverse and its shifter is broken, plus it hasn’t been serviced for a year.

While his comments section is abuzz with frustrated Countach enthusiasts, Hoovie’s decision was a practical one.

“I had a car that I don’t really fit in, and have barely driven in the past year, and not making any videos about, costing me thousands in interest each month,” he says.

If I sold it outright, I would have paid a crazy amount of taxes on the gains, so trading it for something that I thought would be great content and a dream car of mine made sense.”

So while the Veyron might not feel like the wisest purchase right now, it’s going to create a lot of content, and therefore revenue, for the YouTuber.

As another commenter said: “The Veyron is literally a ‘final boss’ of his channel and the fact he was able to get his hands on one is really crazy and a testament to his success.”
