A new study has revealed who the worst drivers in the United States are.
Nobody would like to think of themselves as being a bad driver, no matter what kind of car they drive.
But LendingTree had compiled hard data from the insurance industry and produced a list of the nation’s worst drivers by the type of car driven.
Let’s just say, some people have more reason to worry than others.

Which cars were heavily featured among the worst drivers in the United States?
At this point in time, it might well be possible to find a study on virtually anything to do with cars.
In recent memory, we’ve seen a study which revealed the car with the cheapest operating costs, and one which ranked cars by their reliability.

There’s also been investigations into how many EV owners want to go back to gas, and whether or not EVs are cheaper than gas cars.
Now it’s time for the dishonorable mentions – the cars which had the most accident-prone drivers behind the wheel.
At the top of the list – or the bottom, depending on how you look at it – was Tesla.

They had the highest rates of speeding and accidents, according to LendingTree’s data.
The Ram was in second place, having been knocked of its perch from the previous year, and Subaru finished out the top three.
If the data was broken down by state, Ram had the worst drivers in 16 different states.
This put it ahead of Tesla in nine states.
However, it’s a pittance compared to last year, where Ram came out the worst in 23 states.

Subaru was ranked as having the worst drivers in six different states.
Taking a closer look at the rankings
In the District of Columbia (Home to the United States’ capital, Washington D.C.), Hondas came out with the highest incident rate – at 75.8 per 1,000 drivers.
Meanwhile, Pontiac ranked as the brand with the highest rates of DUIs. BMW had earned that unenviable distinction last year.
It’s no wonder that a study found that self-driving cars were safer than those driven by cars.
Which brand came out with the fewest incidents nationwide?
That would be Dodge.

Cars often carry stereotypes about their owners, but that doesn’t mean drivers should strive to live up to them.
We all share the roads together and should take extra care whilst driving.
No matter what car you drive, you have a responsibility to drive safely.
