Even among iconic brands, Aston Martin, in many ways, stands on its own.
The British marque is, unquestionably, one of the most famous and timeless brands ever.
A large degree of that fame and respect is owed to its starring involvement in the James Bond franchise.
And now, 007 has been reunited with his Aston Martin.

The name’s Martin; Aston Martin
Ironically, the character of James Bond did not initially drive Aston Martin cars.
In the first two Bond films, Dr. No and From Russia With Love, Bond drove a Bentley.
However, the third film in the franchise saw Britain’s premier spy introduce the car that would forever symbolize the franchise.
In the legendary film, Goldfinger, Sean Connery introduces one of the most beautiful and famous cars ever made.

The car in question? A 1964 Aston Martin DB5.
Aside from being one of the most beautiful cars ever built, the DB5 was no slouch under the hood, either.
The legendary car came with a 4.0-liter, straight-six engine which produced 282HP.
The special edition DB5 Vantage, introduced in 1964, would produce 325HP.
Bond and the British Brand: a match made in MI6
Since Goldfinger, the relationship between the franchise and the British brand has blossomed.
Timothy Dalton, who starred as Bond in The Living Daylights in 1987, drove a very special Aston Martin.
In fact, he drove the Aston Martin V8, long considered to be Britain’s first supercar.
Produced from 1977 to 1989, the 5.3-liter V8 was clocked producing a top speed of 168MPH in 1981.
In 2006, Daniel Craig’s Bond drove one of our favorite Aston Martins of all time: the DBS.

For those of you who remember Casino Royale, you may also remember the DBS
The supercar, which housed a 6.0-liter V12 producing 510BHP, came in a shade of silver called Casino Royale.
It sadly got destroyed chasing Le Chiffre later in the movie, but it was one of the best Aston Martin cars to feature in the franchise.
Pierce Brosnan reunited with Vanquish
In the eyes of many Bond fans, Irish actor Pierce Brosnan remains one of the best James Bond actors ever.
From 1995 to 2002, the Irishman starred as the most famous film character in history.
In his final outing, 2002’s Die Another Day, Brosnan drove the Vanquish.
The Vanquish came with a fantastic 5.9-liter V12 engine, as well as a top speed of 190MPH.
Bond’s version, however, came with a few more optional extras.
In fact, Brosnan’s Vanquish came tire spikes, front-mounted machine guns and rockets, and an ejector seat, as well as target-seeking shotguns.
Oh, and did we mention the cloaking device? Yes, it came with a cloaking device.
Recently, Brosnan was pictured at Aston Martin’s HQ in Gaydon, Warwickshire, UK.
Pictures were released on Bond, sorry, Brosnan, getting reacquainted with his legendary supercar.
We’re sure we’re not along in wanting to see him return in some capacity to the James Bond franchise.
Vodka Martini, shaken not stirred, anyone?
