A Porsche superfan, who had to build an entirely separate building for his vehicles received his 80th Porsche to coincide with his 80th birthday.

While most car enthusiasts dream of owning just one Porsche, Austrian Ottocar J set his sights a little higher.

Over the years, he’s packed out his garage with not one, not two, not even 10 or 20 but a staggering 80.

A pretty impressive achievement, right?

He fell in love with Porsche almost 50 years ago

Ottocar fell in love with the luxury marque around 50 years ago when he was a keen hobby racer.

He recalled seeing the cars ‘flying past’ him on the race track and decided he’d quite like his own.

So he began to save and eventually bought himself a 911 E in Speed Yellow.

Soon Ottocar was well and truly bitten by the bug and has since added a 917, a rare eight-cylinder 910, and a 964 Cup to his collection.

He’s also picked up a 930 Turbo, an early 356 Coupe, two Porsche Boxter Spyders, and a G-model Speedster.

In total, Ottocar has owned no fewer than 80 pf the stunning cars over the years and currently has a collection of around 38 vehicles.

“I can drive a different one every day for a month, and two at the weekends,” he told Porsche.

His collection is housed in a special building

Ottocar’s collection is so large that he built a whole separate building to house them, which he affectionately calls his ‘living room’.

As well as his car, the specially-built garage is filled with cups and trophies he’s won at various events, as well as posters and other memorabilia.

In 2020, to mark his 80th birthday the luxury car brand invited Ottocar down to their factory in Zuffenhausen, Germany, to collect his new Boxster Spyder – a model of car he’s particularly fond of.

“The sound, how it drives, its suspension, everything that it does – it is the only one of my road-legal Porsche that reminds me of my 910,” he commented.

To thank Ottocar for his years of loyalty, the brand allowed him to be one of the only customers to fix the badge onto the hood himself. Very cool.
