In today’s episode of rare barn finds, we have a story of not one but two rare American muscle cars — both being Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 models that were found in a warehouse after 15 years.

These rare American muscle cars were parked and left to gather dust for 15 years before someone pulled them out.

The first GT500 was a standard variant with 102,000 miles on the clock.

However, the second one was a rare GT500KR that still had its factory 428 Cobra Jet V8 engine under the hood.

Rare Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 found after 15 years

A classic car dealer in Florida found the pair of 1968 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500s and dug them out of the warehouse.

Despite being stored for 15 years, both cars were in great condition.

This isn’t the only time that people have found a rare Shelby GT500, but finding two at the same time is quite a stroke of luck.

The Ford Mustang Shelby GT500KR featured a lime gold finish.

This American muscle car also came with power steering, brakes, air conditioning, and other features.

Since it had all-original parts and was well-preserved, the value of this car increased exponentially.

Piece of American automotive history

The 1968 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 is an important car in the American automotive history.

In particular, the 1968 GT500KR was the fastest and most luxurious Mustang of that era.

Today, the car is worth more than most supercars

Built on Carroll Shelby’s legacy, this iconic muscle car is every young man’s dream.

Even after so many years, the Shelby name personifies the American automotive dream.

The name still plays a significant role in the industry.

For example, the most powerful Mustang ever made is a Shelby Mustang.

So you can imagine that whoever found these two American muscle cars is quite lucky indeed.
