Spectacular cockpit view of a Boeing 777 landing amidst torrential rain

This video filmed inside the cockpit of a Boeing 777 as it landed in torrential rain has left viewers in awe – and feeling a bit jittery.

It’s no secret that pilots need nerves of steel.

Navigating a huge aircraft with hundreds of people on board is not the faint-hearted, even in the most ideal weather conditions.

But landing a plane in a rainy downpour is a situation many pilots have likely had to face.

In a video shared to X, non-pilots get to see the view of this stomach-turning process from the cockpit itself.

The clip, tweeted out by @webflite, has amassed more than 46,000 likes since it was posted.

In it, the viewer is shown the perspective of pilots as they come in for landing.

What does the video show inside the Boeing 777?

For most of the footage, the viewer can’t see anything beyond the window glass.

The vision of the pilots is being impaired too, as they switch on the window wipers.

Soon, the lights of the runway come into view.

With how much water is running across the window, they look little more than blurred smudges.

But the pilots land the plane expertly.

How did the internet react to this landing in the rain?

People were very impressed by what they saw in the video.

One user commented: “All pilots have nerves of steel. Glad they are flying the earth.”

Another tweeted: “Pilots are awesome and those planes are incredible.”

Others drew comparisons to iconic films, likening the clip to something out of Castaway or 2001: A Space Odyssey.

For others, the clip was enough to put them off flying for good.

One nervous flyer said: “Great, now I have another reason to have heart attacks while flying.”
