I’m going to assume you’ve probably not given much thought to exactly how big the world’s biggest gas station is – but if you had, you probably underestimated it.
Because Buc-ee’s gas station, which is situated near Sevierville in Tennessee, is seriously massive. And I mean, seriously massive.
The station, which has the title of largest on the planet, is a staggering 74,000 square feet and is fitted out with 120 fuel pumps as well as EV charging stations.
Mind-blowing, right?

As you can imagine, with a place that size it’s much more than just a place to pump your gas.
Alongside its fuel pumps, there’s a shopping center that does double duty as a rest stop for weary motorists.
As well as being able to take a comfort break, Buc-ee’s offers up a solid selection of snacks, including baked goods, beef jerky, tacos, and freshly made sandwiches.
Like many gas stations, it’s open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, but unlike most gas stations it employs a whopping 350 members of staff.
Founded in 1982, Buc-cee’s has amassed an army of loyal fans over the years who flock to their location across the south of the US.
Known for its cute beaver mascot and bathrooms so clean they’ve won awards (yes, really), Buc-ee’s has become a destination in its own right, rather than somewhere you’d just stop up to refuel both your car and yourself.
Somewhat incredibly, Buc-ee’s is set to topple its own record next week, when it opens doors at its latest location in Luling, Texas on Monday, June 10, and will span 75,000 square feet.
Buc-ee’s Director of Real Estate and Development, Stan Beard told WESH: “We are thrilled to open the doors to the world’s largest Buc-ee’s travel center right here in the Great State of Texas.
“It’s particularly exciting, considering this is the Buc-ee’s that started it all, so we are really looking forward to celebrating with the incredible people of Luling.”
Buc-ee’s owner Arch Aplin III, told CBS Austin: “Call me sentimental but this was the first travel center store 20 years ago and I wanted to do it right here in the same location.”
