We all have an inner nerd that needs unleashing every now and again, but this man really let his intrusive thoughts win and shelled out on a Pokémon car named ‘Carizard’ at the expense of a Tesla.
Nintendo’s Pokémon is a worldwide revelation, having moved past the simple Gameboy titles and cemented itself in pop culture alongside the likes of Harry Potter and Marvel.
The avid fan base soaks in all that the gaming industry can offer from Red and Green in 1996 to the record-breaking Scarlet and Violet in 2022.
But in honor of Pokémon Day (February 27), fans have unearthed the mighty ‘Carizard’.

‘Carizard’ is the ultimate Pokémon-inspired vehicle
The notorious gaming community often takes their fascinations into cars. From Mario-Kart-inspired F1 racetracks in Saudi Arabia to console installations in work vans, the influences are strong.
This particular case is a different evolution, though.
Named after the legendary fire-breathing dragon Charizard, whose $58,000 card previously made headlines for all the wrong reasons, this Pokémon car is a joy to behold.
The anime-wrapped Smart Car was purchased from Facebook Marketplace.
Decorated in Pikachu yellow with the faces of the starting Pokémon (Squirtle, Charmander, and Bulbasaur) and the anime show star Ash Ketchum, the giddiness emitted from this proud manchild.

“A few years ago I was driving along the highway and that’s where I first laid my eyes upon the Pokémon car,” the content creator said.
“I drove up alongside it and started singing along at the top of my lungs to the Pokémon theme song it was amazing.
“So what do you guys think happened when I saw the exact same Pokémon car listed on Facebook Marketplace just a few weeks later? Yep – I bought it.”
The ultimate Pokémon car trip
YouTuber Little Z revealed that he sold his Tesla to fund the buy, and there was little regret on his face.
That is until he set himself and the car a challenge that involved the car breaking down.
The man went out in search of the entire McDonald’s Pokémon card collection, taking the car on a massive trip to catch ’em all.

Carizard soldiered on the best he could, but required two revives to be played after breaking down twice.
Still, the car and its new owner soldiered on to enjoy some card collecting and a friendly spot of Pokémon Go in the park.
At least he didn’t have to take it home to a wife…
Still, it has to be more fun than grudging his way through the built-in games his old Tesla offered.
The Pokémon industry is lucrative, despite the choice of a Smart Car.
Logan Paul once made history with the most expensive card purchase in the world, as he coughed up a whopping $5,275,000 to own a PSA Grade 10 Illustrator Pikachu.
