After a dramatic rise in Bitcoin prices, a millionaire splashed $16 million on a warship inspired superyacht.

Denison Yachting recently announced the sale of a 134ft superyacht that will be built at Aegean Yachts facilities in Bodrum, Turkey.

The boat, known as Project Obsidian Blade, was purchased using cryptocurrency.

Despite the warship aesthetic, this superyacht is just as luxurious inside as any other.

War on the outside, vacation on the inside – taking a look at this remarkable superyacht

Up to 12 guests can be accommodated on the yacht, which has a master suite among its many rooms.

Six crew members will be onboard to guarantee a faultless experience, whether it be spent on the sundeck or in one of the boat’s numerous lounging areas.

Broker Pierre Badin helped to facilitate the deal for his millionaire client.

“The client fell in love with the design and we have worked closely with the team at Aegean to tailor her to their needs,” Badin told Superyacht Times.

“It has been a pleasure collaborating with Aegean to bring this remarkable project to life.”

From above, the ship looks like it wouldn’t look out of place on a game of Battleship.

But alas, this is the next superyacht to keep an eye out for.

It’s not as showy as some of the others, like that of the Atlanta Falcons’ owner, but it’s still a worthwhile investment.

Even if it does look like a warship, but we guess that’s part of the appeal.

There are a lot of cool superyachts out there

It’s stiff competition when it comes to comparing the superyachts sailing the seven seas.

In terms of price alone, many of them dwarf the $16 million spent on the Obsidian Blade.

Even if that one was paid for in Bitcoin.

Take the yacht of Walmart heiress Nancy Walton Laurie as an example – a staggering $300 million was spent on that superyacht.

But then you had the Jacksonsville Jaguars’ owner with his $400 million superyacht, that he casually moored in New Orleans to watch the Super Bowl.

And the eye-watering expenses don’t end once they’ve been purchased.

Michael Latifi, the father of former F1 driver Nicholas Latifi, spent $141,000 just to moor his $200 million boat next to the 2024 Monaco Grand Prix.

And that was just for one day – the Grand Prix is a weekend event.

When you’ve got billions in the bank, what’s a couple hundred thousand huh?
