Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul has opened up about his 1969 Ford Torino that went missing.

The actor is known for his love of cars, and there have been many in his life.

But the Ford Torino was surely a prized possession of his, having been gifted to him by DreamWorks Studio.

It was the car that he rocked up to the premiere party of Need for Speed in way back in 2017.

The mystery of the missing Torino

Speaking to Car and Driver, Paul reflected on the missing car in his life.

You might think the car had been stolen or something, given that he hasn’t seen it in three years.

To be fair, some car owners go decades without seeing their cars, so three years isn’t quite as steep.

It’s not quite that cut and dry.

Rather, it would appear that his car is being held hostage by a mechanic.

Each time he asked for it back, the mechanic would suggest another alteration and Paul would agree to it, prolonging the car’s stay.

Finally, he’d had enough and called up the shop, only to receive no answer.

He drove down to Long Beach to get his car back ,but couldn’t track down the shop.

Ultimately he did receive a call back – only to be told that the original mechanic had disappeared.

To make matters worse, none of the work paid for had been done on the car.

It had been left outside for three years, gathering rust.

“He was a full-on con artist,” Paul admitted.

Aaron Paul’s love of cars

Other cars that have enjoyed better fates than the Torino include a Mercedes-Benz EQS electric sedan and a Shelby Cobra.

The latter was a replica built by Shelby American himself.

Its status as a replica appears to have given the actor a sense of relief, as he doesn’t need to ‘be worried or too precious about it’.

Paul made it big in Hollywood by playing Jesse Pinkman in AMC’s Breaking Bad, which ran from 2008 to 2013.

The show not only made him a star, it also helped turn a motoring flop into a popular car.

The Pontiac Aztek was not well received when it was launched in 2001.

But after being featured as Walter White’s car in the AMC show, its reputation changed completely.
