An Airbus A321neo stunned everyone when it performed a shockingly low landing at Greece’s Skiathos Airport.

As the plane owned by Hungarian low-cost airline WizzAir descended towards the runway, people were amazed by its massive size and how close it was.

The flight was right above the heads of the onlookers, with many even ducking and craning their necks in response.

The airport, with its runway located near the sea, is known for its low approaches, but this one was particularly jaw-dropping.

The Airbus A321neo almost touched their heads

A video of the landing was posted on Instagram by jas.aviation, quickly gaining attention.

People were amazed at how the aircraft seemed to almost touch their heads.

Measuring 44.5 meters in length with a wingspan of 35.8 meters, the massive Airbus A321neo would have certainly been an incredible sight to witness up close.

With its incredible fuel efficiency, the Airbus A321neo stands out as one of the most eco-friendly planes in its class, using up to 20% less fuel than older models.

The A321neo’s extended range (XLR variant) lets it fly up to 4,700 nautical miles, making long flights possible for a smaller plane.

Watching such an iconic aircraft up close performing a low landing is a rare sight.

However, this is not the first time we have seen an aircraft performing a low-landing like this.

A Boeing 747 performed a similar maneuver at St. Maarten Airport not too long ago.

Viewer Reactions to the stunning landing

Reactions to the Instagram post poured in, with one user commenting: “Wow??? Too close for comfort.”

Another added: “Wow, that is low, would be cool to witness.”

Some even questioned whether the video was real, with a user asking: “Is this altered? Fake?”

Another low approach was performed by an Embraer ERJ-190, flying just above the heads of stunned onlookers.

While many people find these landings exciting, for some, it can be quite nerve-wracking to witness a massive plane so close.
