Bill Gates is extremely rich, which is hardly breaking news.
And yet, despite all his wealth, he lives a relatively modest life.
But, more importantly, he says his children will have to do that as well because they will not inherit his fortune.

Like other high-profile billionaires, Bill Gates tends to spend a lot of money on things you don’t necessarily immediately see.
This explains why he wears a $50 Casio and drives a Volvo, but then spends millions on a hydrogen yacht.
He also spends a lot of money on private jets and personal security, like most of his peers.
But having said that, his mind is made up when it comes to the amount of money his three children will inherit.
And as it turns out, it’s probably less than you’d think.
Bill Gates believes that giving his billions to his children wouldn’t help them, because that way, according to him, they would simply live in a sort of life-long bubble and never build anything on their own.
The former CEO of Microsoft once said his children will inherit less than one percent of his wealth.
Obviously, with a fortune so vast, everything is relative.
Let’s not forget that Bill Gates is worth $130 billion at the time of writing, per Forbes, and so this means ‘that less than one percent of his wealth’ is still well over $10 million.
And what about the rest of his net worth?
Bill Gates has said, on more than one occasion, that most of the money will go to his charity project, The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
As for his three children, they’ll have to make do with ‘only’ around $10 million.
