The 2004 military Humvee has been the support underneath US veterans’ feet for years, but is it’s finest year in the past? – we’ll see as it takes on a Tesla Cybertruck in a tug-of-war.

The 2004 original 6.5L Diesel Military Humvee has been on active duty for years, providing the armed forces with the assistance they need across all terrains.

But when it comes to brute force, is it really the beast we know it to be?

Well, the Tesla Cybertruck has entered the chat and it talks a big game.

Tesla Cybertruck tackles military Humvee in tug-of-war

Hot off the back of a viral tug-of-war bout with a turbocharged Dodge Ram, content creators on YouTube have now pitted the Tesla Cybertruck against the military-grade Humvee to see which is the more fearsome monster of the road.

The futuristic Tesla fared evenly with the Ram, but YouTube account Flying Wheels feared that the Cybertruck would fare much better against the war veteran body of a Humvee.

The task was simple. A strap was tied to both cars and standard tug-of-war rules applied – the first to pull the other past the checkpoint would be the winner.

“I think that the Cybertruck might win, but it is a complete guess, I have no idea,” the Flying Wheels host said.

Cybertruck vs Humvee: The results

In line with the predictions, the Cybertruck absolutely decimated the Humvee in the towing competition, beating it three times in a row from a dead start.

The Cybertruck then embarrassed the Humvee in a handicap leg, giving the military vehicle a five-second head start to put the Cybertruck on the back foot.

Even with the discrepancy though, the Tesla made light work of slowing the Humvee down to a halt before dragging it back over its own goal line.

“That was embarrassing,” the host added.

The Cybertruck has been gaining a lot of clout lately as one of the best pickup trucks on the market, thanks to its solid tonneau cover.

Now, it’s also a jock tow truck.

Don’t forget this is a standard roadworthy EV too.

Maybe the Cybertruck really is the jack of all trades that it was described to be.

It didn’t fare too well in the drag races though, so best to keep them off the race tracks.

For the Humvee, its not too much of a dampener on its reputation, given the outbalance of cost, but the Cybertruck’s bulletproof exterior could see the Tesla become a service vehicle in a few years.
