This Ferrari 412 P Berlinetta is about to be one of the most expensive cars ever sold at auction

This Ferrari is about to become one of the most expensive cars ever sold at auction.

The ultra-rare 412 P Berlinetta racer will be going under the hammer at Bonham’s Quail Auction during Monterey Car Week next month.

But if you want to get your hands on it, you’re going to need incredibly deep pockets.

This car is just one of two examples ever made of the original 412 P Berlinetta.

When it rolled off the line in 1967 it was delivered to Colonel Ronnie Hoare.

The colonel’s Maranello Concessionaires team was one of the most successful private racing organizations of all time.

The car was finished according to the colonel’s preferences, in racing red with a Cambridge blue nose flash.

Since 1967, the Ferrari’s changed hands only a couple of times.

It’s been with the same owner since 2005 now.

Its current owner actually poured nine years of work into this car to restore it back to its 1967 race season condition.

The restoration was done incredibly well too, as it still retains its original chassis (no. 0854), engine, gearbox, and bodywork.

According to the auction site, it’s the only Ferrari 412 P in its original condition.

So, what is a car like this expected to go for?

Experts predict the Ferrari 412 P Berlinetta could sell for up to $40 million.

Should it fetch this much, it’ll become the third most expensive car ever sold at auction.

It would follow the 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR Uhlenhaut Coupe that sold for $142 million in 2022 and the 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO that sold for $48 million in 2018.

Got a cool $40 mill and want to get your hands on this beauty?

The 412 P will go under the hammer at the Quail Auction at the Quail Lodge & Golf Club in California on August 18.
