Ferrari has revealed its latest one-off build, the SP51 roadster

Ferrari has unveiled its latest one-off built from its Special Projects division – the stunning SP51.

Built for a long-time Ferrari client in Taiwan, every element of it from the ground up was specified with the customer.

As such, it wears completely unique bodywork and has a unique interior to match.

As is becoming a bit of a trend at the moment, it’s a completely open-top car with no roof at all.

It was designed by the in-house Ferrari Styling Center, and is based on the 812 GTS underneath.

So unique is its design, Ferrari even developed a unique color for the SP51 – Rosso Passionale, a triple-layer red.

The design is also incredibly aerodynamic, with numerous computer simulations and wind tunnel tests performed despite this being a one-off.

The reason aerodynamics are so important to this design is due to it having no roof.

Ferrari was determined to make sure the experience inside the open cabin was ideal from the acoustics to the amount of wind in your hair.

Both the stripes on the outside and the interior of this car were chosen to honour the 1955 Ferrari 410 S.

The client had the idea of basing the interior around the same Rosso Passionale color as the exterior, and featuring the same blue and white stripes on the inside as well.

That’s why the same stripe is plastered between the two seats, which are upholstered in red Alcantara.

There’s also the use of blue Kvadrat material to contrast it as well, along with blue and white stitching.

Ferrari hasn’t said how fast the SP51 is, either in terms of top speed or its 0-100km/h (0-62mph) time.

However, with it featuring the same 789hp 6.5-liter V12 as the 812 GTS, so a similar 340km/h (211mph) top speed and 3.0-second 0-100km/h sprint are likely.

Ferrari obviously won’t say how much the customer paid either given its bespoke build status.

With the company describing the buyer as ‘one of [its] leading collectors’, it’s safe to say this one-of-one will be the perfect crown jewel for their collection.
