Genesis reveals new X Gran series with Coupe and Convertible G90 spinoffs

Since launching in Seoul just 10 years ago, Genesis hasn’t wasted any time in creating masterful luxury cars, becoming almost unrecognizable from its Hyundai parent company.

The South Korean company has made rapid advancements from its most popular base models, creating incredible concepts that double as vehicles and cinemas.

It has created a number of concepts for every occasion – such as snowmobiles – but it now looks like Genesis’ sights are firmly back on the roads.

As of April 3, Genesis has just announced two spinoffs of the popular G90.

The Gran X Coupe and Gran X Convertible are here and they look sublime.

The Gran X Convertible has been in the works for some time, alongside some other EVs set to rival the Tesla Model S Plaid.

But the Coupe version has slipped under the radar until its surprise reveal.

Based on the flagship G90, the two new cars are inspired by southern Europe fineries like ‘Mediterranean olive trees and Cabernet Sauvignon wine’, with a clear ethos of providing happy and radiant styles of luxury.

Both cars come with the typical two-line headlights, the signature diamond-shaped grille, and an elongated front hood to mimic the old-school Italian sporty manufacturing.

Both cars are gearing up for a gran-reveal

The cars are set to both be revealed in full this week in Seoul.

“In the 10 years since our launch, we have been dedicated to delivering its unique values to more than 1.3 million customers worldwide,” said Mike Song, Genesis Global Head, in a press release.

“We aim to seize this opportunity as a launchpad for a new decade, showcasing models that embody Genesis’ pursuit of high-performance technology and future luxury design.”

The details and specs for the Gran X Coupe and Gran X Convertible have yet to be revealed. Although more details are expected as the Seoul Mobility Show 2025 rolls on throughout April.

The South Korean brand will also be launching its new luxury EV – the GV90 – in 2026 alongside its racing icon lookalike the X Gran Berlinetta.
