Someone bought a half-century-old semi-truck with a dream to make it an outrageous performance rig, but ambition made him instantly regret that purchase.
He spent around $10,000 on the truck and got so excited that he didn’t even perform the pre-purchase inspections to see if it was in the right condition.
Still, this was a project truck, and – after a few fixes and upgrades – the semi-truck was alive and kicking again.

Regretting the semi-truck purchase
Jeremiah from the YouTube channel BigTime bought the most unusual project vehicle and posted a video about it.
The video began with him constantly reconsidering his massive purchase, because $10,000 for a project vehicle is a huge amount, but then again, it was a semi-truck.
The end goal was to have a supertruck with extreme performance, and it’s a wild story.
After the YouTuber went through a phase of what he called ‘post-truck clarity,’ he created a list of things to check the semi’s condition.
It wasn’t a pleasant experience, to say the least.
You see, finding out what’s wrong with your vehicle after you’ve already paid for it can be heartbreaking.
Before the man could even pop the semi-truck’s hood open, he faced an obstacle.
Trucks require a hydraulic pump to lift the front cab and reveal what’s under the hood.
That very pump was broken, so he had to replace it along with some hydraulic pipes.
Then, it was time to see if the five-decade-old beast was okay or not.
Apart from some hygiene issues, it was fine…well, mostly.
Achieving the dream
There was a fuel pump leak, but the YouTuber said it was an easy fix.
Next up, he fixed and replaced some parts of the air system, including the compressor and hydraulics.
For context, a semi-truck heavily depends on the air system for core functions, including braking, seat adjustments, and even wipers.
The YouTuber also threw in some new tires and made sure the transmission was functional.
After spending some more hours, the truck was ready to roll with its V6 engine that produced over 1,000lb-ft of torque.
His project vehicle dream didn’t shatter, and he now had a $10,000+ performance semi-truck.
That’s certainly a win for any enthusiast.
