Ford built just 495 examples of this special Mustang SVT Cobra, with one up for sale with just over 2,000 miles registered.

The 2004 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra is one of the best versions of the muscle car, with Ford building a handful of special editions.

Just 495 were available as a convertible in a very bright color scheme, and it’s no surprise this one has attracted a lot of attention.

Bidding is so high, that it’s already surpassed the retail price of the current Mustang Dark Horse

The convertible Mustang SVT Cobra is available in a special color

Ford made just 495 convertible SVT Cobras available in the Mystichrome Appearance package.

The cars were assembled at Ford’s Dearborn assembly plant in Michigan.

This particular example has had just two previous owners according to CarFax.

A bonus for whoever buys the car is that it has just 2,500 miles on the clock.

Some of the changes include a distinctive hood design and updated rocker panels.

The Mustang also has a new front and rear bumper style.

The Mustang rides on 17-inch factory wheels, and incredibly, they’re still wrapped in the original tires.

However, their grip levels will have diminished so a change of tires would be needed by the new owner.

The Mustang has a 4.6-liter V8 under the hood making 390HP and 390LB-FT of torque.

Amazingly, bidding already stands at $65,000.

Ford upgraded the Mustang’s mechanics with the SVT Cobra

The SVT Cobra also saw Ford boost the mechanical performance of the muscle car.

Like the others from 2004, this SVT Cobra has Bilstein dampers, independent rear suspension, and brake calipers with Cobra branding.

The real highlight of the Mustang however is the Mystichrome paint scheme.

Depending on the light, you can see the color shift between blue, green, and purple.

The seller stated there are no defects whatsoever with the finish.

Ford also wanted to make the interior as special as possible.

To do this, they gave it a Dark Charcoal Nudo leather scheme.

There are also some subtle Mystichrome inserts on the steering wheel and seats.

There are some nifty mod-cons too such as a six-disc CD changer, power-adjustable driver’s seat, keyless entry, and cruise control.
