San Francisco police seized cars worth hundreds of thousands of dollars including Corvette, Mustang GT, and Cadillac

San Francisco Police Department has seized five vehicles after street takeovers in the city.

The police force took the cars as part of a crackdown after stunt demonstrations on Embarcadero and Washington Street in June, including a vehicle being set on fire.

Whilst the stunt takeovers saw many people watching and filming, the police are keen to ensure these illegal stunts don’t continue.

Five vehicles seized

Vehicles were seized by the police force after authorities ‘identified and located five vehicles’ that took place in the events in June.

Seizing them, amongst the collection was a Ford Mustang GT, a Corvette C7, and a first-generation Cadillac CTS-V.

The vehicles will be impounded for 30 days and authorities said owners will also face fees and fines for storage as well as towing.

San Francisco Police Department speaks out

SFPD Chief William Scott issued a statement, as he said: “These illegal events are unacceptable in our city.

“I want to thank the hard-working members of the San Francisco Police Department who put themselves in harm’s way when responding to these dangerous and unlawful activities.”
