Having had this Tesla Cybertruck for just one year, one owner in Texas is being forced to put his truck up for sale ahead of a move out of the State.

The Tesla Cybertruck is a notoriously difficult car to make money on.

Tesla originally had clauses in its sales contracts that prevented owners from flipping the trucks instantly for profit, making them wait one year or else pay a $50k fine.

But one year on, people are listing the Cybertruck by the dozens, although this owner is only giving it up because they are moving out of Texas.

Texas man sells Cybertruck amid out-of-state move

Despite the demand for Tesla Cybertrucks still being extremely high, the one-year restriction on sales is quickly coming to an end for most owners.

The futuristic cars are being used in all sorts of industries throughout America, whether it be city life or plowing in rural farms.

But this Texas man is now claiming that he needs to sell the Cybertruck as he is moving out of the State.

The truck only has a mere 2,600 miles on the clock and was bought in March 2024 for $101,985.

But the Cybertruck won’t be following the man out of Austin, Texas, and is now being bid on online.

“I’ve loved owning my Cybertruck: it’s really fast, very comfortable thanks to the air ride suspension, and very practical,” the seller stated.

“Unfortunately, an out-of-state relocation means I have to leave this amazing truck behind.”

The man is predicted to lose a significant amount through natural depreciation, with most brand-new trucks from Tesla dealerships coming in at $72,490.

Why did he need to sell?

While the owner keeps his cards close, citing just the relocation for the reason of the sale, it may well have to do with Tesla insurance.

Given that the Cybertruck can only be used in California, Arizona, Illinois, Ohio, and Texas, moving out of the latter State might be the reason for its sale.

Or, they’re moving somewhere much colder where the EVs are notoriously worse off.

Although some people have tried their hardest to make absurd profits from the in-demand Cybertruck, it seems that the Tesla pickup isn’t as fruitful as people once thought.

Still, with bids on the truck already, it’s likely another Texan will be thrilled with their new Tesla pickup.
