After the announcement that Tesla is slowly introducing FSD – Full Self-Driving – into China but with a new, more honest name, people were intrigued to see whether it would be different – or better.
This viral video has been making the rounds, showing off the Tesla FSD capacity on Chinese roads by balancing a plastic cup of water on the windowsill while the car is in FSD mode.
FSD or ‘Autopilot Automatic Assisted Driving on Urban Roads’ as it’s known in China, seems even better than in other countries, making people think the tech is more advanced in China.
The mesmerizing footage has been celebrated by Tesla fans and owners who are sharing it as an example of Tesla’s tech capacity.

Is Tesla FSD better in China?
Tesla recently announced that it’ll be bringing FSD, AKA Full Self-Driving, to their cars in China. However, it will have a different name.
A lot of people thought that the name change might mean that Chinese Tesla drivers have a different experience or better technology.
In a recent video shared by X user Aaron Li – @boolusilan – showed a Tesla in self-drive mode, with a plastic cup of water balanced on the windowsill.
The cup of water stays balanced on the windowsill without spilling for four whole minutes. Clearly, the cup is moving, but not enough to cause it to topple over.
FSD is being tested with the water cup challenge. It's never dull in China. #FSDChina

People are impressed
As is clear from the comments, people are clearly impressed by this self-drive mode.
“That’s amazing,” one commenter raved.
“Awesome creativity coming from China!” said another in response to the creative way to show off the tech‘s capabilities.
Some people are skeptical thinking that all it shows is that Chinese roads are better quality than American roads.
“Just tells me that China has smoother, better roads than Nebraska!” this commenter exclaimed.
It looks like the EV maker’s self-drive, AKA ‘Autopilot Automatic Assisted Driving on Urban Roads’ in China is already taking the world by storm.
