By now, Tesla dominating the drag strip should not come as a shock to anybody.

The American brand’s all-electric representatives are some of the most brilliant drag cars in the world.

Recently, a high-performance variant of the Model S took on a McLaren 750S.

And one of them got absolutely dominated.

Tesla Model S Plaid: Pinnacle of performance?

The Tesla Model S Plaid is the ultimate EV machine.

The Model S Plaid, Tesla claims, ‘has the quickest acceleration of any vehicle in production.

The Plaid variation comes with a staggering 1,020HP.

It also has a top speed of 200MPH, as well as a 0-60 time of two seconds.

And, as you can imagine, the acceleration and performance is utterly staggering.

The Model S Plaid has a tri-motor, all-wheel drive setup, which helps deliver its ridiculous performance.

McLaren 750S: McLaren’s ICE answer

Fighting out of the red corner, we have the McLaren 750S.

As you might have guessed by the name, it is, indeed, the successor to the 720S.

And it is a more than worthy successor to the marque’s throne.

The new 750S is McLaren’s final solely ICE – or Internal Combustion Engine – powered supercar.

The last ICE offering is powered by a 4.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V8 engine.

The new engine produces 740HP, and it produces a top speed of 206MPH

It is also good for a 0-60 time of around 2.8 seconds.

Many people are claiming that the new 750S is actually better than the 720S it’s replacing.

And that really is saying something indeed.

Tesla vs McLaren: one smashes the other

Essentially, all of that brings us to today’s story.

The YouTube channel Drag Times decided to head to Bradenton Motorsports Park in Florida.

The guys brought a Tesla Model S Plaid to the track in order to face off against the McLaren 750S.

However, it should be noted that is no ordinary McLaren.

In fact, this supercar has been tuned to produce over 1000HP; it also has upgraded turbochargers and an upgraded titanium exhaust.

After examining the cars and crunching the numbers, it’s time to see who’s top dog.

On the first run, the McLaren gets a monster launch off the line.

The Tesla keeps it reasonably close, but then the 750S just walks away down the drag strip.

The guys then do a second race in order to see if the results are different.

The Tesla gets a much better launch off the line, and even briefly leads the race outright.

However, the acceleration of the 750S is telling, and it just pushes past the Tesla.

So, if you want to smash a Tesla to pieces on a drag strip, just buy yourself a $300,000 McLaren 750S.
