It’s not quite often that even the collective might of the internet has been unable to identify a vehicle — but that’s exactly the case with this unidentified Texas mystery car.

Very little information is known about the car as it was quickly sold.

Although many people on the internet are trying to figure out what is the real identity of this mystery car, no one can tell for sure.

Texas mystery car

This Texas mystery car is clearly a roadster from the 1950/1960s era.

Although it was originally discovered back in September 2023, as of the time of writing no one has been able to identify the car.

Even the circumstances of the car’s appearance leave no clues behind.

It was discovered in a field outside Houston, Texas, and sold very quickly after it was listed on Craigslist.

Looking at the visible rust on the steel body, we can rule out a one-off fiberglass car.

However, the Texas mystery car has some modest fins and space for an external spare tire.

While that should narrow it down, it doesn’t help that much as that kind of design was quite prevalent in the 1960s.

Internet mystery

Initially found by Undiscovered Classics, the Texas mystery car had become quite a wild goose chase as people tried to identify the car.

One of the most popular theories is that the car is a long-lost concept car built by a major automaker.

It seems like it was either a one-off car or a low-volume production model, as no one seems to know what it is.

It can also be a coach-built car or at least a heavily modified version.

However, it will be hard to tell for sure unless we get a clear look at the engine bay.

So do you know what car this is?
