This US YouTuber spent a year searching for a Ford Raptor to customize before finding one right in front of him.
YouTuber FrenchieFries was eager to get his hands on a Raptor but it proved elusive for a long while.
Eventually, he found one on Facebook Marketplace that was in his own city.
Now that he’d acquired one, he wanted to customize it.

How this US YouTuber ended up stumbling across a Ford Raptor after searching for a year
If you were looking for a car, you’d be doing yourself a solid by buying a Ford Raptor.
They’re beasts at off-roading; they can be ‘apocalypse proof’ when needed and can hold their own in a tug-of-war.
In short, they’re super cool.

But finding one can prove to be a tricky task.
When FrenchieFries tried to get his hands on one, it took him up to a year.
He was told that he’d been on a waiting list for years if he went through a dealer.
It didn’t help that inflation had caused the prices to skyrocket.
So for a long while, it felt like a hopeless endeavor.
But then he saw an opportunity – a Raptor had been listed in his city on Facebook Marketplace.
Once he got a look at the truck, he was left in awe.
“This truck is a lot bigger in person, it’s wide,” he remarked.
“I feel like a real man, a real American.”
He offered the owner $69,420 for the truck, and he got himself a deal.

And yes, he chose that figure for the reason we’re all thinking about.
Customizing the truck with zero experience
FrenchieFries was the first to admit that he had no experience in customizing a Raptor.
But he had a vision.
A bulk of time was spent giving the truck a wrap, which would give it a hi-vis vest look.
You know, neon green.

Along the way, things don’t go smoothly.
At one point, whilst lifting a topper on the truck bed, they accidentally scratched some of the paint on the side.
This led to Frenchie’s dad chastising him.
But fear not, for things worked out in the end.
The bed looked awesome – like a mini apartment on wheels.
All in all, the customization process took three months.
But by our estimate, it was three months well spent.
