Gran Turismo 7

Gran Turismo 7 will be out in just a couple of days and fans of the series have plenty to be excited about.

Classic features from the game’s 25-year history will be returning alongside new additions to keep things exciting.

After more than 8 years of waiting, the next mainline entry in the Gran Turismo series is almost here.

Here are 5 things we can’t wait to do once we get behind the wheel on March 4.

1. Visit the GT Cafe

The Gran Turismo cafe will be at the centre of the world map and is designed to guide players through the new career mode.

There will be a collection of 30 ‘menu books’ to complete in the cafe, with each offering rewards like new cars, tracks, or credits.

As you complete these challenges you’ll also learn about the history of car culture from real-life designers and engineers.

This takes the museum mode from 2017’s Gran Turismo sport to the next level by having the designers behind cars like the Mazda MX-5 Miata talk you through the history of their creations.

2. Drive new versions of iconic tracks

Gran Turismo games have always had some of the most realistic and highly detailed tracks of any console game and GT7 looks to have the best selection yet.

We can expect 34 tracks with a total of 97 unique layouts to be available at launch with more to be added in future updates. These will include a mix of real-life circuits along with fictional tracks made just of the game.

Famous circuits from all around the world will be included but the ones to be most excited about are the returning classics from past Gran Turismo games. Iconic tracks making a return will include Trail Mountain, High Speed Ring, and the Deep Forest Raceway.

3. Take the GT licence test

Gran Turismo is famous for its licence tests and we’re glad to see it making a return in GT7.

The license tests are a series of challenges to teach you driving techniques that will help you reach the front of the grid during races. You’ll be given a gold, silver, or bronze medal for each event, and if it’s similar to previous games, getting gold will be a real challenge.

4. Drive the new Porsche Vision GT

Cars are the main part of any racing game and Gran Turismo 7 is set to have over 400 at launch, including the all-new Porsche Vision GT.

The Vision GT is a concept car that has been specifically designed for this game and gives us a glimpse at what future sports cars might look like.

This EV is closer to a jet fighter than anything you’d see on the road with things like floating headrests, and a fingerprint operated canopy in place of traditional doors.

We can’t wait to find out if it’s as enjoyable to drive as it is striking to look at.

5. Try out the new music rally

The only thing better than driving is driving with music and that’s exactly what you get with the new music rally mode.

Players will need to pass through checkpoints before they run out of ‘beats’ that deplete with the rhythm of the music.

We don’t know what music will be included but it certainly sounds like something fun to do between the more serious career racers.
