The VelociRaptoR 1000 is Hennessey’s latest supertruck

Hennessey has a bit of a thing for making fast cars faster.

This time it’s the Ford Raptor R’s turn to receive the Hennessey treatment.

Hennessey’s ‘VelociRaptoR 1000’ package will give the new V8-powered Ford F-150 Raptor R one of the quickest and most powerful engines in the world.

When it debuts in the first quarter of 2023, the Hennessey VelociRaptoR 1000 will boast 1,000 bhp and more than 850 lb-ft of torque.

That engine output will put the already adept off-road pick-up in a league of its own.

So, how has Hennessey done it this time?

CHECK THIS OUT!

The flagship Raptor R boasts Ford’s 5.2-liter ‘Predator’ V8 with stock output rated at 700 hp.

To paint a clear picture, that Predator V8 under the hood shares architecture with that of the Ford Mustang GT500.

That’s a vehicle Hennessey already reliably upgrades to more than 1,200 bhp.

The Raptor R has two more cylinders than the standard F-150 Raptor, and is fitted with a 2.65-liter supercharger as opposed to a twin-turbocharger configuration.

With the Hennessey VelociRaptoR 1000, though, they’ve replaced the stock blower with a larger 3.8-liter supercharger.

It’s complemented by a high-flow induction, larger fuel injectors, upgraded fuel lines, and a new supercharger belt.

The supercharger upgrade and other performance enhancements boost the output of the 5.2-liter V8 by more than 40 percent.

As well as increased engine output, the VelociRaptoR 1000 features exterior enhancements which Hennessey says “boost its appearance and off-road capability”.

Those exterior enhancements include new front and rear bumpers, a front LED light bar, 20-inch Hennessey wheels, and 37-inch off-road tires.

VelociRaptoR 1000 badging and a serial-numbered build plague will identify the model as something extra special, too.
