If you’ve ever wondered what the safest vehicle on the roads is, it might just be the Inkas Titan-DS SWAT truck.

That’s not because of your regular safety features, though – it’s because this truck was built to withstand practically anything.

Based on the chassis of a Ram 5500 pickup, the Titan-DS can protect its passengers from bullets, grenades and other explosives.

Built by Emirati company Inkas Armored and made in Dubai, more than 10,000 have been sold to police and special forces around the world.

It rides on military-grade wheels and run-flat tires, which you can keep driving on for 50km (31mi) even after they’ve been pierced by bullets.

The floor is also STANAG level 2 blast protection certified.

That means the SWAT truck can withstand the force of two hand grenades going off at the same time – about 6kg of explosive force.

The rear cabin – which can hold 10 people, or should we say, troops – is also surrounded with portholes that can be opened to shoot out of.

But most impressive is the movable turret on top of the vehicle which you can climb up into to shoot a machine gun or rocket launcher.

Seriously – this thing is badass.

Back to safety, though, there are escape hatches in the roof as well.

An air purifying system and fresh oxygen supply are also optionally available on the TitanDS for extra protection.

CHECK THIS OUT!

Three-point harnesses are standard on all seats, ensuring everyone in the unit is firmly strapped in.

To ensure some familiarity, it still has the standard Ram 5500 dashboard.

The standard Cummins diesel engine from the Ram is tuned up and fitted with dual fuel tanks to give it 800km (497mi) range.

The SWAT truck is a total beast.

Supercar Blondie’s Alex Hirschi recently took it for a spin in the Dubai desert.
