While police cars in most countries are normal sedans and SUVs, Dubai likes to do things a bit differently.

The city might use sedans like the Audi A6 for regular duties, but there is a host of supercars in its fleet as well.

The fleet of supercars is used to patrol tourist areas and help the police force connect more easily with travellers and the community.

After all, who doesn’t love checking out a flashy supercar?

So, here’s a deep dive into the most incredible fleet of police cars in the world.

10. Dubai police cars – Ferrari FF

While having a Ferrari police car is cool, Dubai’s police force has opted for one of the more obscure models Ferrari has made.

The FF was the first Ferrari to ever offer all-wheel drive – of course, still paired with a screaming V12 engine.

Although it only has two doors, it has four seats inside and a big boot thanks to its shooting brake design.

Despite its age, the FF changes hands for around $160,000 on average.

9. Bentley Bentayga

The Bentayga is probably the second-most luxurious SUV in the world behind the Rolls-Royce Cullinan.

That makes it the ideal vehicle to turn into a police car then, right?

With its massive proportions and bold styling, you won’t miss this $300,000–plus SUV in traffic.

Especially not with its red and blue lights flashing.

8. BMW i8

With so many big V8s and V12s in the Dubai police fleet, at least there’s a hybrid in the mix to bring the average emissions down.

Of course, it’s still one of the coolest hybrid cars ever made.

The BMW i8 might be a bit older now, but it still looks as fresh as the day it first launched with its aerodynamic styling and butterfly doors.

Although it’s a three-cylinder hybrid, it still makes a healthy 369hp, which is plenty in a car as light as it is.

Plus, with a starting price of $147,500, it’s fittingly expensive amongst this impressive fleet.

7. W Motors Ghiath Smart Patrol

You might know W Motors as the company that built the Lykan hypercar that featured in Furious 7.

The company is actually based in Dubai, so it makes sense for it to build some bespoke police cars.

The Ghiath Smart Patrol is one of the latest additions to the fleet.

It’s based on one of the most popular cars in the UAE – the Nissan Patrol four-wheel drive.

However, it wears a bespoke body and is substantially toughened-up for police use.

Inside, it displays info from eight exterior surveillance cameras, a facial recognition system, and a licence plate recognition system.

There’s even a deployable 360-degree periscope camera to look around outside the vehicle as well.

6. Audi R8s – yes, plural

What’s better than one Audi R8? A bunch of Audi R8s.

Yes, the Dubai police force didn’t just stop at one Audi R8 after adding the original model to their fleet.

It now has two examples of the current Audi R8 as well, worth over $142,700 each.

As one of the last V10 cars ever – and with the R8 soon to be discontinued – this group of cars easily earns a place on this list.

5. Brabus G-Wagen

For Dubai police cars, a regular G-Wagen was never going to be enough.

That’s why it turned to Brabus for one of its hotted-up B63S-700 Widestar models.

Based on the regular G63, it’s been tuned up to produce 700hp as the name suggests with bigger turbos fitted to its 5.5-liter V8.

When new, the price is in the realm of around $275,000.

4. Lamborghini Aventador

If it weren’t just an ordinary Aventador, this Lamborghini might be higher on this list.

However, even a base model Aventador being turned into a police car is cool enough to earn fourth-place on this list.

With stealth fighter jet styling and a 700hp V12, it’s still one of the coolest cars you’ll ever see on the road.

It’s a pricey thing, too, worth around $400,000 when new.

3. Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG

With its gullwing doors and notorious inability to put its 583hp down on the road, the SLS has to be one of the most inappropriate police cars out there.

A throwback to the legendary 300 SL Gullwing, it was the first model built from the ground-up by AMG.

When new, it cost more than $200,000.

2. Aston Martin One-77

There are a few things that make the One-77 one of the coolest cars in the Dubai police fleet.

As the name implies, it’s one of just 77 examples ever made, so it’s perhaps the most public example of a One-77 anywhere in the world.

It’s also one of the only cars in the fleet that has a full wrap on it. Most came from the factory in white, but this One-77 was originally silver.

The eye-watering price tag of $1.4 million when new cements its spot near the top of this list as well.

1. Bugatti Veyron

C’mon – police cars do not get cooler than this.

Seeing a Bugatti Veyron dressed up as a police car is something you would never in your wildest dreams expect to see.

Unless you live in Dubai.

The W16-powered 987hp beast is surely the fastest police car anywhere in the world – even if it’s no longer the world’s fastest production car.

Worth upwards of $1.2 million, it’s gotta be one of the most expensive police cars in the world, too.
