The new EQS isn’t the only EV to be unveiled this week – Alfa Romeo showed off its first electric car, the Milano SUV.
A new Tesla Model 3 ‘Ludicrous’ EV leak shows new design and spec details, too.
If the truth be told, the Mercedes-Benz EQS already offered competitive range, but the German automaker’s upped the ante with a new battery.
Previously, the EQS featured a 108.4-kWh battery, however, the 2025 model sees that figure increase to 118.0 kWh.
According to Mercedes, the bigger battery will be paired with freshly updated regenerative braking software, further improving the EV’s range.
The automaker claims that these changes result in more than an 11 percent increase in range, meaning the EQS’s range should be around the 390-mile (628-km) mark.
As well as improving the range of Mercedes-Benz EQS, the automaker also redesigned the sedan’s front end.
Although only a subtle change, it’s noticeable, with the sea of MB stars plastered to the front of previous models being replaced.
The 2025 EQS gets a more traditional-looking grille design, with chrome slats contrasting against a black background.
The Mercedes-Benz crest has been ditched, too, replaced by the more traditional standing-star hood ornament.
On the inside, rear passengers can look forward to a series of changes focused on opulence and comfort.
For example, the climate control cents on the B-pillar have chrome accents now, while the rear seat pillows get contrast stitching and Nappa leather piping.
Sounds plush, but customers with more cash to splash can opt for the Pinnacle trim and Executive Interior package.
This comes with rear seats that can lean back up to 38 degrees, whilst allowing the rear passenger to fold the front passenger seat forward for improved legroom.
Mercedes has yet to release updated specs and pricing information for the 2025 EQS, however, it did confirm the refreshed model will start arriving at dealerships later this year.
