4x4 Lambo Gallardo kit car hero image

A workshop in Thailand has created a 4×4 Lamborghini Toyota hybrid and the result is wild.

The car was built using the chassis out of a Toyota Hilux pick-up truck, which is basically like a US-spec Tacoma except it is slightly shorter, and it is powered by a Lexus-sourced turbocharged V8 that’s located at the front of the car.

It looks bonkers. And yet it is also weirdly attractive.

So what exactly is it?

As you can imagine, slamming a Lexus engine under the custom built Lambo-style hood of a car built on the underpinnings of a Toyota truck isn’t easy.

It requires a lot of work, and a lot of components had to be made from scratch.

The body panels and the Gallardo headlamps are custom-made for this vehicle.

And so is the suspension system.

Even the dashboard and the carbon fiber seats are designed to look like they came straight from a Lamborghini.

And the steering wheel is on the right-hand side of the vehicle.

To top it all off, the car is sitting on chunky off road tires.

Is it for sale?

According to a YouTube video posted by CB Media, the owner of the workshop had been building the car for a customer who recently died, which means the crazy Lambo creation is now for sale.

One of the reasons why kit cars are incredibly popular in Thailand is that the country imposes hefty import duties on imported cars – as high as 80% in some cases.

So the moral of the story is you can either spend half a million on an actual, brand-spanking-new Lamborghini Gallardo or you can buy this odd Lexus-Toyota-Lambo Frankencar for $42,000.
