Watch Daniel Mac ask President Joe Biden what he does for a living

Some of you may be familiar with Daniel Mac, a content creator who makes a living by asking people what they do for a living.

Oh, the irony.

The latest person he’s asked that question is none other than President Joe Biden.

It’s unclear who first came up with the idea for this format – Daniel Mac certainly popularized it – but it works.

Over the years, many creators have tried different takes on this but the gist is simple.

They ask people in fancy cars and fancy homes what they do for a living.

The implied meaning of the question being, ‘how can you afford this car (or house)?’

These videos are often staged, as was the video featuring the President.

Filmed at the Detroit Auto Show, the clip was a collaboration between the U.S. Administration and Daniel Mac to promote electric vehicles.

It shows President Joe Biden sitting in a Cadillac Lyriq as Daniel Mac compliments him on the car and asks what he does for a living.

President Biden replies: “Well, I’m married to Jill Biden and I make sure we’re making a lot more electric vehicles in America.”

“If you want to get in the back and come ride with me, but I’m going all the way to Washington,” he also joked.

While President Biden may be pushing for more EV production in America, he’s personally known as a Chevrolet Corvette fan.

He owns a 1967 Corvette Stingray convertible, and also made sure to check out the new C8 Corvette Z06 while at the Detroit Auto Show.

About the Cadillac Lyriq

The Lyriq is a big deal for Cadillac.

Partly because it is the brand’s first all-electric vehicle, but also because it sets a new tone for the brand in terms of technology and design language.

The range-topping version delivers 340hp, but more importantly, it has a range of 502km (312 miles).

Pricing for the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq starts at $59,990.
