Holy grail barn find is one of the few remaining original 1964 Ford Mustangs

Dennis and Richard from the TV show Fast N’ Loud uncovered one of the few remaining examples of the original 1964 Ford Mustang.

This isn’t a restomod or a modified version made to look like the original, it’s the real thing.

It’s also absolutely priceless.

They think they can sell it for at least $200,000.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing and ‘history in the making’ is a great expression but the truth is, nine times out of 10, we don’t really realize just how valuable something can be until much later.

As a result, when Ford launched the Mustang in the mid-1960s, they probably knew they’d made a great car, but maybe they didn’t know it would become – well – the Mustang.

This explains why so many Mustangs, including several 1964 models, are sometimes abandoned in barns and forgotten about for decades.

But Mustangs are generally not that difficult to fix, which is why Dennis and Richard from Fast N’ Loud believe they can sell this for $200,000.

The story behind the Ford Mustang

To this day, the Mustang still holds the record for the fastest-selling new car in the history.

Ford sold over 418,812 in the first year, over one million by the second year.

The Mustang was launched in mid-1964 as a 1965 model, which is why finding an actual 1964 Ford Mustang is a rare occurence.

Since then, Ford has sold millions of Mustangs across seven generations, including the most recent one, the Mustang GTD, which is also the most powerful Mustang ever made.

Then there’s the Mustang Mach-E, which bears the Mustang name and vaguely looks like a Mustang, but it’s an actually an electric SUV.

It’s doing well for Ford, though.

Partly because of its record-breaking range, and partly because it is more or less the best-selling vehicle in its category.

We say ‘more or less’ because these things vary depend on how you can count them.

Some people would probably put the Tesla Model Y in the same category, because they’d argue its an SUV, in which case the Mustang wouldn’t be the top seller.

But others wouldn’t, because the Mustang Mach-E is a full-fledged luxury SUV while the Model Y is smaller, and kind of halfway between an SUV and a sedan.
