How Kim Kardashian modded her $95m private jet and now it’s worth jaw-dropping amount

When you travel as often as Kim Kardashian, you’re going to want your own private jet.

But a regular private jet isn’t quite good enough when you’re a billionaire.

Kardashian splurged on a Gulfstream G650, then spent millions customizing it to suit her style.

Kardashian didn’t choose this Gulfstream purely for aesthetic value.

The high-performance model is favored by many other successful business moguls, including Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos.

After purchasing it for $95 million she set out to make sure hers stood out from the pack.

She gave a tour of the finished plane on an episode of The Kardashians on Hulu.

“I feel like I’m doing an MTV Cribs for planes,” she said.

The Gulfstream’s original interior was a mixture of light leather and dark wood.

Kardashian is a huge fan of minimalist design and light tones.

Everything from her stark home decor to the color palette of her SKIMS clothing brand is in shades of white, beige and brown.

So naturally her jet’s interior had to match.

“I never dreamed I would own a plane,” she said.

“I wanted it to feel like an extension of me, an extension of my home.”

She had all the wood in the plane replaced with a lighter shade.

Then she added her favorite feature.

“The best, most exciting part is it’s all cashmere,” she said.

The luxurious material has been added to every surface possible.

The headrests, ceilings, seats and even luggage compartments are now ultra-soft to the touch.

And she doesn’t plan on stopping there.

The mogul wants to design a range of sliders especially for her passengers.

She’ll also produce pyjamas, socks and blankets, all emblazoned with her airline’s brand: Kim Air.

A bathroom was added to the front of the plane, with a second in the back.

The kitchen area is bright and airy, with a huge bunch of roses permanently on display, a Kardashian signature.

There are 10 sleeping spots on board, and most of them are able to easily transform into king-sized beds.

Her first flight was to the Dominican Republic for a photo shoot.

Since then it’s been used for a number of special trips.

Perhaps most famously the time her daughter North and her friends used it to travel to her 9th birthday party.

After all her stylish mods, the value of the jet has gone up significantly.

The Gulfstream is now estimated to be worth an eye-watering $150 million.
