A multimillionaire has just had a $2 million McLaren Senna GTR craned into his penthouse apartment on the 57th floor.

Hundreds of people in Melbourne, Australia, were shocked when they saw the supercar dangling more than 200 meters above their heads.

Its new home? The most expensive penthouse in the city.

The man behind the crazy stunt was 34-year-old Australian businessman Adrian Portelli.

Portelli, a car enthusiast who runs LMCT+ Group, just bought the penthouse in the Sapphire building for $39 million.

“It’s a racecar so you can’t register it on the street, so it was just sitting in a factory, so I thought, might as well give it the title it deserves,” he told Nine News.

Portelli said he only bought the penthouse on the condition that he get his beloved supercar inside.

“I’m like, if I buy the penthouse, I want to get a car up there, and they’re like ‘alright leave it to us’ and they got it done… it was part of the package,” he said.

When the car was lifted into the air, it unsurprisingly drew hundreds of spectators.

Portelli himself watched it go up with a massive smile on his face.

“It went up very quick didn’t it, it was on the floor one minute, then straight up there,” he said.

It might have taken just a short amount of time to physically lift it, but that was just the tip of the iceberg.

A lot of work went into making it happen.

In order to get the car up there, they needed to deconstruct the side of the building and take out several windows.

Once it got to the top floor, a crew was positioned on a specially-constructed platform ready to grab it and position it inside.

Despite the crazy logistics, the mission went off without a hitch and the Senna now calls the $39 million, 13,000-square-foot penthouse home.

The Senna is of course, much more than just an ornament.

This $2 million supercar ($3 million AUD) is one of just 75 examples.

It’s powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, producing 813 horsepower and generating 2,200 pounds of downforce.
