Tesla finally reveals official Cybertruck delivery date

Soon the 1.9 million people who preordered the Tesla Cybertruck will be able to collect their goods.

Well, some of them.

Tesla has officially announced when we can expect the first Cybertruck deliveries to be made.

And it’s sooner than the cynics expected.

The Cybertruck was announced back in 2019.

Since then, its release date has been delayed multiple times.

Back then, the concept of an electric truck was new and exciting.

But during the four-year wait period, competitors like Ford and Hyundai have started launching electric trucks of their own.

Most recently, Tesla announced that its trucks would start rolling out in the third quarter of 2023.

But as Christmas decorations start to fill the malls, we’re officially into the last quarter.

And still, no Cybertruck deliveries to be seen.

Yesterday, however, Tesla released an official statement and we finally have a date set.

Never one to do things subtly, Elon Musk will throw a huge party to celebrate.

The party will be held at the company’s massive Gigafactory in Austin, Texas, which is 10 million square feet.

That’s the length of 15 city blocks.

Previous launch parties have featured pyrotechnics, live music and Musk in a black cowboy hat.

At the Cyber Rodeo event last year, Musk was criticized for being vague about the Cybertruck’s release date.

This year he’ll have no choice but to be very clear about deliveries.

The official Cybertruck launch party will happen on 30 November.

And this is when the first deliveries will take place.

While it’s exciting to have an official date, the company needs to address its backlog of orders.

Musk made it possible to place a preorder for a Cybertruck for just $100, which is totally refundable.

This means a lot of people placed orders, with varying levels of intent to actually buy.

Now the company has over 1.9 million orders to see to.

Back in 2019, the truck was priced at $39,000.

It’s safe to assume that this price will have increased in the last four years.

However, if Tesla’s recent price cuts are anything to go by, this vehicle might remain at the affordable end of the price range.

Musk has said that the company will aim to produce a quarter of a million Cybertruck models a year.

That’s impressive, but it still means he’ll be playing catch-up for a few years.
