Utah man can’t believe the towing power of the Chevy Silverado EV compared to the Tesla Cybertruck

A man from Utah was left in disbelief after testing the towing power of the Chevy Silverado EV.
After previously testing the Tesla Cybertruck, the Chevy was put to the same test.
The truck had to tow a Humvee – which let’s face it, is no mean feat.
And it performed incredibly well.

Despite only entering the market a year ago, the Chevy Silverado EV has already hit the ground running.
The impressive EV has had users professing that the vehicle ‘makes them proud to be an American’ – which is quite the statement.
In fact, the carmaker is loved by petrolheads all over the country – with this Utah man even installing a Nintendo 64 in his Chevy 3500 utility van to make his lunch breaks more exciting.
But there was one vital test left – seeing how far the Chevy could tow the Humvee.
So Youtuber JerryRigEverything decided to do just that, and he was blown away by the results.
It was Cybertruck v Chevy with only one clear winner
He had previously tested Tesla’s Cybertruck towing power.
The Cybertruck is no stranger to a tow test or two – even this man tested how well it pulled a 10,000lbs Rivian 8,000ft up a Colorado mountain road – plus it took on a Ford F-150 in a tug of war.
The Cybertruck has a maximum towing capacity of 11,000lbs, whereas the Silverado EV claims to only manage 10,000 lbs.
To really put the trucks up against it, the task at hand was to pull a mighty Humvee on a trailer, totalling 11,000lbs.
Stiff competition
While the Silverado took longer to reach 0-60, it actually managed to tow the Humvee twice as far as the Cybertruck – a whopping 177 miles.
He suggested that the Cybertruck’s less than impressive performance was down to wintery conditions, off-road tires and simple aerodynamics due to its shape and size.
So, even with a greater towing capacity and longer time on the road than the baby Silverado EV – the Cybertruck simply wasn’t the winner this time.
Jerry even hailed the Tesla Cybertruck as a ‘terrible towing machine’ in the test.
