This wheelless Frankenbike runs on tracks – and it actually works

What do you get when you cross a bike with a treadmill?

Well, wonder no more because this man just did it and the video is going viral.

The Q is a YouTube channel that isn’t afraid to turn the bike you know and love completely on its head.

The inventor is no stranger to creating weird and wonderful bikes and sharing exactly how he does it.

This time, The Q has transformed treadmill-type tracks into bike ‘wheels’.

It appears The Q used the same frame for the wheelless bike that he used for his square-wheel bicycle and wheelless bike.

From measuring to perfectly cutting and eventually seamlessly slotting the pieces together – it’s the mechanic’s answer to ASMR.

Instead of the two wheels you’d expect beneath a bicycle, his wheelless bike is fitted with two bespoke tracks.

But does it work? Almost perfectly.

The video ends with the YouTuber climbing atop his unusual creation and showing off exactly how it works.

While you won’t be hitting high speeds and won’t see this contraption on your commute anytime soon – it’s a cool concept.

Some of The Q’s 13.4 million subscribers had thoughts on this wheelless bike.

“For perfectly smooth surfaces only,” one said.

“The speed bump round the corner will take this personally,” another said.

“Test it on sand, dirt, and grass, please,” said a third.

It’s noteworthy that the content creator had the disclaimer in the video description that he’d made the bike “just for fun”.

We can’t wait to see what he comes up with next.
