A Wisconsin man put a fake toy Corvette to the test and raced it on a drag strip against four real Corvettes.
YouTuber Joel Creates wanted to see if a pink Barbie Corvette could compete against the real deal.
At first, this sounds like an outlandish idea doomed to failure.
But the results of this race may surprise you.

The little Corvette toy that could…or could it?
Here’s how Joel described the toy car:
“It’s pink. It’s got four wheel drive. And it’s fast.
“So incredibly fast that I’m going to race against four real Corvettes on a drag strip.”

Now, we should all know better than to judge by appearances.
After all, isn’t Barbie all about girl power? Like the Maserati Grecale Barbie that certainly didn’t lose out on HP just because it was pink.
Before it was revived for the challenge, the pint-sized automobile had been sitting, rotting away.
It wasn’t looking so pretty in pink.
But Joel dedicated three weeks to turning it into a speed demon.
The original plastic body had to go, and in came a go-kart frame repurposed to fit the chassis.

An electric engine went in and hub motors were added to help complete the transformation.
All of this is in well and good in theory – but how would it handle itself out on the track?
Joel took his viewers with him to Great Lakes Dragaway to find out.
Come on Barbie, let’s go… drag-racing
Challengers rocked up to the track to take on Joel’s Barbie car.
The first competitor was a vintage Corvette with 270HP that had travelled across the country multiple times.

With the goal being to reach 60mph first, it seemed as if this race was a foregone conclusion.
But the Barbie car had an immediate head start.
There’s a sentence we never thought we’d write – and you never thought you’d read.
The next competitor was a 1991 C4, with 250hp.
Things were tighter this time around, with the competing car taking the win by 3 milliseconds.

It was a loss against the 2003 C5 and the 2020 C8, but both times, the Barbie car made a solid effort.
If we were giving out participation ribbons in drag racing, this little pink car would be deserving of the biggest one.
Had the toy beaten them all out, it would have been a huge surprise, even by the standards of drag races.
They’re notoriously full of shocking results, as demonstrated when this Tesla Cybertruck took on a Lamborghini Aventador in Virginia.
And let’s not forget about the time a junkyard super-truck took on a GMC Syclone.
