Boeing 777X

This breathtaking feat showcased the future of aviation technology and gave an in-depth glimpse at the power and capabilities of the Boeing 777X.

The Boeing 777X was, at the time of filming, the latest series of long-range, wide-body, twin-engine jetliners in the Boeing 777 family.

The aircraft featured new GE9X engines, new composite wings with folding wingtips, greater cabin width and seating capacity, borrowing technologies from the Boeing 787.

The General Electric GE9X was a high-bypass turbofan developed by GE Aviation exclusively for the Boeing 777X.

The airplane engine first ran on the ground in April 2016 and first flew on March 13, 2018.

It was the engine that powered the 777-9’s maiden flight in early 2020.

The takeoff

This footage captured by the aviation enthusiast behind the Topfelya YouTube channel was able to capture the feat of aviation mastery from multiple angles from three different cameras.

It finally gives us a complete view of the incredible moment from behind, the front and the side – as it first taxis down the runway before it takes to the skies in a dramatically vertical fashion.

The powerful GE9X engines are powerful enough to propel the 252-foot aircraft almost straight upward – it still holds the title of the longest commercial jet in the world.

The Boeing 777X aircraft also features an expansive wingspan of 235 feet almost equivalent to its length, thanks to the innovation of the world’s largest folding wingtips.

At 16 inches wider than its predecessor that makes it more spacious and comfortable than its competition.
