Delta used a Porsche 911 GT3 RS to shuttle travelers with tight layovers at LAX

In a partnership intended to cut down on missed flights, Delta has been whizzing LAX customers with tight connections around in a Porsche 911 GT3 RS shuttle.

There are few things worse than missing a connection flight – the worry and panic as your initial flight touches down is only heightened by knowing there are hundreds of people waiting in the terminal before you.

But if you could bypass security, passports, and queues by jumping in the back of a Porsche 911 GT3 RS, wouldn’t that be a delight?

Well, thanks to Delta, that’s now possible.

Delta offers ‘random’ Porsche 911 GT3 RS escorts at LAX

Travel experts continue to make flights and transfers quicker and more seamless than ever before.

Whether it’s simple passport barriers or literal flying cars, airport technology is advancing to make holidays and commutes much easier.

Delta has upped the ante with the help of a good, old-fashioned, naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six engine.

The Porsche 911 GT3 RS is on the ground to cart lucky passengers from one flight to another at LAX airport, in Los Angeles, in record-breaking times.

The 911 GT3 RS has been used by the airline at LAX for a year, the companies having struck up a partnership over a decade ago.

A handful of fortunate passengers will be selected to take the Porsche to the terminal of their next flight. So they can skip all of the nail-biting waits and jump straight on the next plane.

The Porsche transfer system is slated to be ‘completely random’ to those who are Delta Medallion members. But the exact vehicle that can appear ranges from supercars to golf buggies.

Porsche x Delta is 15 years in the making

The partnership has seen the American airline and German sports car manufacturer work together since 2011, putting cars on the strip to get customers onto their flights ASAP.

However, it’s not always the 911 GT3 that does the drop-offs.

Most of the time, the luxury carmaker uses its more standard fleet of cars, rather than the high-end $200k sports cars.

Back in 2023, though, to mark the 12th anniversary of the partnership, Delta called in the help of Porsche’s crown jewel: the 918 Spyder.

It’s not just LAX that gets these speedy trips, though. Delta offers these time-saving trips at its biggest airports throughout the US, including JFK, Atlanta, San Francisco, and more.

Still, jumping in any Porsche is better than those stuffy shuttles and sweaty trains that airports offer.
