This US-based YouTuber began content creation, fell in love with tiny homes, and eventually started living in ‘portable mode’ by adapting his car into a car camper to save up for a tiny home purchase in Florida.
It’s not something you get to see someone doing every day, that’s for sure.
But after all, a little adventure is all you might need to change your life.
That’s exactly why this man now lives in his car and can practically live anywhere he likes.

YouTuber lives in a car camper to save up for a tiny home
People having multiple cars inside a home is commonplace, but having a home inside a car certainly isn’t.
Meet Michael Hickey, who moved to Oregon, United States, about two years ago for a job and was voluntarily living in his car not long after.
Initially, his adventurous journey began with him living in a rented ‘tiny home’, which was the perfect man cave.
However, Hickey took up content creation full-time and wanted to own a tiny home himself.
That’s when he started living in his car.
So far, things have been alright for him — or he makes it look easy, to say the least.
The YouTuber actively documents his journey and how his days go by on his YouTube channel.
We recommend having a look at the other videos if you find such a lifestyle fascinating.
For most of us, abandoning an actual house and moving to the uncertainties of a portable one might be impossible.
With that said, Hickey has been improvising for all this time.
Adapting his car to make it feel like a home
Although he doesn’t have a full-sized SUV or a pickup truck, which would make things exponentially easier, his car camper modifications allow him to get through the week.
Moreover, his current home and car are both a singular Kia Rio — a family sedan.
Despite the limited real estate he has, the YouTuber has a convertible bed, a small fan, and a makeshift kitchen in the trunk.
It’s not the first time we’ve seen someone ditching the comforts and safety of a home to live on the road, but this seems a tad bit valiant.
One perk of living in a car camper is that he gets to drive his home around the country and move as he likes.
He also gets to meet other people living in a similar manner — who knew so many people lived like this?
As of writing, Hickey is only a couple thousand dollars away from his $50,000 goal.
He plans to buy a tiny home in Florida and is already actively searching for one.
Hopefully, he gets one — because living in a car comes with its own problem set.
