Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) has made a truly special announcement.
Honda’s official motorsport division has announced it is selling off engine parts.
But this is no ordinary announcement, because this is no ordinary engine.
The parts are coming from the V10 engine of an Ayrton Senna Championship-winning car.

Honda’s huge motorsport heritage
Honda’s involvement in motorsport is as extensive as it is legendary.
HRC has been involved in motorsport since the division’s inception in 1982.
Since then, it has dominated in motorsport and racing, particularly in Grand Prix Motorcycle Racing.
However, it has historically also had a lot of involvement in Formula 1.

After leaving F1 in 1968, Honda returned to Formula 1 as an engine supplier in 1983.
It supplied engines to various teams until its departure in 1992, but one partnership stood above them all.
And that was the partnership the Japanese giants enjoyed with McLaren.
Japanese brand powers Ayrton Senna to three world titles
In case you’re unfamiliar, Ayrton Senna is arguably the greatest Formula 1 driver of all time.
The Sao Paolo, Brazil native captured the hearts and minds of millions over his 10-year F1 career.
He drove for the Honda-powered McLaren Racing team between 1988 and 1993.
Tragically, the legend lost his life in 1994 after a crash during the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix.

During his tenure, he won three world titles with McLaren.
In 1990, Senna would regain his world championship that he had contentiously lost to fierce rival Alain Prost.
And Senna was powered to his second title by one of the best engines ever created.
The RA100E V10 would drive Senna to six total wins during the 1990 season.
And now the brand has announced that you can own parts of the engine.
Honda V10 F1 engine to be auctioned
Recently, HRC announced an historic endeavour to connect fans with Honda’s heritage.
Specifically, it revealed that components of Senna’s engine would be sold.
This includes camshafts, pistons, connecting rods, valve covers and various other parts.
To do this, the Japanese giant said the engine had been meticulously disassembled.

It has been taken apart, piece by piece, at Honda’s Sakura City factory.
Each component will be presented in a display case, along with a certificate of authenticity.
“We aim to make this a valuable business that allows fans who love F1, MotoGP, and various other races to share in the history of Honda’s challenges in racing,” HRC President Koji Watanabe said.
