When you’re a celebrity like Leonardo DiCaprio the rules just don’t apply.

Not even the rules of the road.

DiCaprio has recently been in London and has employed a unique method to avoid getting stuck in traffic.

It’s not illegal nor does it cost a fortune, but it does require you to have some friends in high places.

DiCaprio has managed to get permission to be driven around in a diplomatic car.

These vehicles are usually reserved for use by foreign embassies.

They’re granted certain privileges and immunities, like being exempt from being stopped and searched by the authorities.

But there are no rules about what guests are allowed on board, and DiCaprio has been making full use of this perk.

He has been riding around London in a car that belongs to a diplomat from the Ivory Coast.

It’s a blue Range Rover that is worth around $100,000.

The vehicle has blacked-out windows and diplomatic plates, which give it special rights on the road.

Diplomatic vehicles can generally get away with moves like running red lights and ignoring the speed limit.

The cars do have to adhere to the rules of the road, however are rarely pulled over for minor traffic violations.

DiCaprio is famously serious about privacy.

From wearing disguises in public to making his girlfriends sign NDAs, the guy doesn’t play around with his private life.

So it makes sense that he’s resorted to hiding behind the tinted windows of a diplomatic car.

Once a celebrity is spotted in the wild it doesn’t take long for their coordinates to be made public.

And Leonardo DiCaprio has been spotted plenty in the United Kingdom’s capital of late.

Thanks to his trusty Range Rover, he’s been able to dodge paparazzi and fans alike.

And when not using his diplomatic plates to avoid being pursued, he’s using them to weave through traffic.

Because Heaven forbid a celebrity should have to endure being stuck in a traffic jam.
