The Lamborghini Lanzador – the first ever electric vehicle from Lamborghini – could come with a mind-boggling 2,000 horsepower.
The Italian marque unveiled its EV concept car back in 2023.
The automaker has previously said its first all-electric offering will be released in 2028.
And now the luxury carmaker has shared some interesting new details about the EV.

The Lamborghini Lanzador will be the first EV from the marque
When Lamborghini unveiled the concept car in 2023, the marque said it was an ‘innovative Gran Turismo 2+2 concept’, which basically meant it was a bit of a mash-up between a 2+2 coupe and an SUV.
“With this concept, we are ushering in a new car segment, the Ultra GT, which is poised to offer customers a new and unparalleled driving experience, one that’s quintessentially Lamborghini, thanks to groundbreaking technologies,” Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini Stephan Winkelmann said at the time.

The brand said the all-wheel drive Lanzador will be fitted with two electric motors – one for each axle – that will be able to handle ‘all driving conditions, on all surfaces, and in every driving style’.
Winkelmann had said at the time that the Lanzador would offer one megawatt of power – around 1,341 horsepower.
The car is slated to have a staggering 2,000 horsepower
However, fast-forward a couple of years, and more details about the upcoming EV have been released, and it looks as though it could be even more powerful than previously stated – offering a whopping 2,000 horsepower.
Volkswagen Group boss Oliver Blume told Autocar the upcoming EV will have a ‘very specific set-up’.
He said the vehicle would ‘use a platform that development of is being led by Porsche for Audi, Bentley, Lamborghini and Porsche, that will allow for up to 2000 horsepower and 980 volts’.

“It’s a very specific set-up for Lamborghini,” he said.
But he was also quick to stress that there’s a lot more to the upcoming EV than its next-level horsepower.
Blume said how it feels to drive the Lanzador is more important than the horsepower it offers.
“I promise that it will be a typical Lamborghini, something very emotional,” he said.
As yet, additional specifics haven’t been shared but the carmaker is sticking with its plan to launch the production version of the Lanzador by the end of the decade – so watch this space.
