This man tried to buy an abandoned Porsche 911.

He had his eye on the car that was left sitting outside an auto repair shop for over a year.

So, after building up the courage to ask if he could snap it up, he found out the truth.

Let’s just say it wasn’t what he was expecting, that’s for sure.

Porsche has produced powerhouses of cars

The German marque has produced some of the most beautiful supercars known to humanity.

And if that wasn’t enough, its engines are known all over the world for cranking out serious speed.

The brand even helped Keanu Reeves to build his dream 911 after his original was stolen – talk about customer satisfaction.

Plus, Porsche’s new $600,000 electric speedboat used the powertrain from a Macan EV.

This man though, had his eye on a specific Porsche 911.

The Porsche 911 first hit the scene in 1963

Porsche’s 911 is probably the most recognizable of the marque’s cars, having been around for decades.

The model was first launched at the Frankfurt International Motor Show in 1963, and a year later, in September 1964, the car entered production.

Having been popular for so long, finding an abandoned 911 is rare – and a definite snap up.

It had been sat collecting dust for a year

“This Porsche 911 has been sitting outside this mechanic shop for over a year,” explained creator @magnacars.

The classic car seemingly caught his eye after no driver had claimed it as their own.

“Last February I accidentally stumbled across it sitting in front of this German mechanic specialist covered in snow, ” he continued.

So, curious to see if he could buy it himself, he went into the shop to enquire.

It wasn’t the news that he was hoping for

After building up courage and setting off, he asked the all important question.

But, he found that, sadly, the owner was trying to fix it – so it wasn’t abandoned after all.

“The owner is waiting on parts, apparently, it’s some computer module which causes the engine to spark which he doesn’t have, so hopefully,y they get it fixed this year,” he remarked.

We’ve got to say, though, we admire his determination to go after what he wanted.

Would you have been brave enough to do the same?

After all, one man’s trash, is another man’s treasure.
