Who doesn’t love the idea of a secret garage?
A safe, subterranean space to store your most beloved supercar possessions.
Well, one man certainly thinks so, and has started building his own Bat cave beneath his house.
Unfortunately, it’s proving harder than he’d first thought.

Digging himself into a hole for his secret garage
Colin Furze, from the UK, runs his own YouTube channel.
He also appears to have watched The Great Escape one too many times – as he has decided to dig a massive tunnel under his house.
In fact, Colin has been engaged in the process of building a car garage underneath his home in the UK for a while now.
Over the past couple of months, Colin Furze has been documenting the process on his channel too.
Looking at the footage, it’s actually pretty mindblowing.

Colin has dug out his front yard with the help of just a few friendly folks.
He’s managed to connect this digging work to a hatch inside his house.
Impressive, isn’t it?
But the hardest part of it all, as Colin would come to learn, was the drainage.
UK weather doesn’t lend itself to elaborate digging
In case you’ve never been to the UK, it isn’t exactly sunny all year round.
In fact, it’s generally pretty rainy and miserable.
This makes digging of any kind an even more laborious undertaking than it normally would be.
In this case, Colin is quite lucky, because his house has a complex system of drainage pipes and gutters.
There were, of course, still some complications.
The floor in Colin’s tunnel was completely level, so he knew it wasn’t likely to drain properly in the event of flooding.
Fortunately, Colin’s secret garage did have a gutter filter, but he couldn’t guarantee how well this would work.
Regardless, we think it’s extremely cool, and we wish Colin Furze the best of luck with his garage labyrinth.
