The team at WD Detailing took on the not-insignificant task of giving this classic car its first clean in 45 years.
It’s covered in dirt and debris during the 293 original miles it collected on the odometer.
The upholstery still has its original protective plastic on the seats.
In fact, a pressure wash was required to shift it followed by a wash, clay bar, and polishing paint.
They are able to give it a satisfying restoration – both inside and out.
The result is that the original shine is restored on the outside and the mold from the interior is gone leaving it in near-factory condition with original decals and parts still in place.
“It’s just in incredible shape – it looks seriously brand new. It looks like someone put that on yesterday and that’s pretty incredible for being from 1978,” they said.
In similar news, this classic car museum was confused by a 1971 Vauxhall Victor FE in pristine condition.
The reason for keeping it hidden
The owner had kept the car hidden in his garage, only driving it once since 1986 for homecoming.
Why? He saw it as an investment and believed that it would appreciate in value over time.
He intended to preserve its condition and low mileage, making it more valuable when he eventually decided to sell it.
Want more? This great condition 1977 Corvette has surprisingly low mileage.
At the other end of the scale, the world’s highest-mileage cars have gone even further than you could have ever imagined.
